SUMMER ACTIVITIES


FISHING

Fish Lake has great fishing all year around. Summer is best time for boat fishing. Shore fishing is best from the Twin Creeks parking area as there is a moss line that runs most of the west shore. Spear Fishing is also popular, although the water temperature is cold. Be prepared to bring your own gear.



COME FIND YOUR TRAIL!

(BIKING, HIKING, OFF ROAD VEHICLES)

In the heart of trail country, we offer trails for any type of outdoorsman. Either hike, bike, horseback around Fishlake National Forest. Or, trailer your off-road vehicles to the nerest trailhead. 

HISTORIC FISH LAKE LODGE

From Memorial Day weekend to the weekend after Labor Day our historic Fish Lake Lodge is open for visitation. Explore Grandma Mackinaws grocery and gift shop. Stop at the information desk for maps and brochures. Take a break and dine in our family friendly restaurant. 

BOATING

Rent a boat at either marina location, or bring your own. Fish Lake offers aluminum fishing boat or Pontoon boat rentals. Pedal boat and kayaks are also available for hourly rental. If you have your own boat use any of our two free launch locations. 

FAMILY REUNIONS

With over 52cabin rentals, 175 campsites, and 44 RV sites, Fish Lake, Utah provides the ultimate setting for large family gatherings. A large picnic area and two meeting rooms at the Fish Lake Lodge, are also available to the public. We also have a new gathering room at our Lakeside Resort.

CAMPING

Do you have friends or family who want to tent camp? Then bring your tent or RV and stay in any of the 175 Forest Service campsites. Lakeside Resort also offers full hookup RV sites for trailers.

SCENIC BYWAY

Beginning at the junction of Highways 24 and 25, the Fish Lake Scenic Byway is a great way to spend a few hours. In addition to the scenery, wildlife and amazing fall colors, vistors can see many different sites along the way.

RANGER PROGRAMS

Being located in the Fish Lake National Forest, during the summer months the Forest Service will provided educational programs for adults and children alike to enjoy. Contact the Loa District Forest Service office for schedule.

NIGHT SKY VIEWING

Due to our remote location, and lack of light pollution. Enjoy an optimal and spectacular view of the night sky.

WINTER ACTIVITIES


ICE FISHING

Ice fishing season generally runs from Mid January to around the end of March. Fishermen this time of year have the ability to walk out past the moss line and fish anywhere along the lake.

SNOWMOBILING

Snowmobilers can enjoy magnificent and complex terrain. Sleid across the lake area in the basin, or climb up the Gooseberry/Seven Mile area for more rugged terrain. .

SNOWSHOEING, CROSS COUNTRY SKING

Trail access is not just for summer. Strap on your own snowshoes or skis and enjoy the same sights with added winter beauty.

FALL ACTIVITIES


HUNTING/FALL FISHING

Fish Lake offers excellent deer and elk hunting and has become recognized as part of Central Utah's best hunting area. In addition, this is the time of year when the big Mackinaw and German Brown fish bite the best. The opportunity to bag a buck and catch a trophy-sized fish during the same trip makes Fish Lake a sportsman's dream come true. Fish Lake also offers excellent waterfowl hunting in late autumn.

FALL FOLIAGE/PANDO

Pando, latin for "I spread", is one of the worlds largest and most heaviest organisms. Its an aspen clone that originated from a single seed. Best viewing is during the fall season when the leaves are changing into bright colors of yellow, orange and some red. Peak colors are normally around the first to mid September. 

KOKANEE SALMON VIEWING

Starting September 10th thru November 30th fishing for the kokanee salmon closes during their spawning season. Guest have the opportunity to head over to Twin Creeks and view these fish in their bright red colors. Please do not touch or catch the fish. Kokanee are illegal to catch during spawning season.
